How we choose
This is the method behind every buying guide. It is a desk-research method: we do not hands-on test products (see the editorial policy).
Buying guides
- In stock on Amazon.in. A product must be listed and available on Amazon.in when we check it. We do not recommend products we cannot find on sale.
- Current model. We pick current models, not superseded ones, and note when a brand marks a model as end-of-life.
- Specifications from brand pages. Specs come from the brand’s own pages. Where a spec is only on an Amazon listing, we label it that way.
- Price-band fit. The product must sit inside the band the guide is about. We use bands, not live prices.
- Service network. We look at warranty terms and service coverage in India, and say plainly when we could not verify them.
- Commission-blind picks. We choose and rank products without looking at commission rates. To be honest about the limits: Amazon pays different rates by category, and we choose which categories to cover, so the site does earn more from some categories than others. Within a guide, the pick and its order are not set by what pays more.
Explainers
Explainers (for example, rules for carrying power banks on flights, or how to spot a fake charger) follow a different method. They have no product ranking. We build them from primary sources such as DGCA circulars, BIS and brand support pages, list those sources on the page, and state the date they were checked. Where an official source could not be loaded, we say so or leave the point out. Any shopping links on an explainer are labelled “(paid link)”.
